Enable or disable shared line privacy mode in the Zoom app

A privacy feature can be enabled for their account by account owners or administrators for shared line groups or shared line appearances (call delegation). It is possible for members of a shared group and members of a shared presentation to block a call, making it impossible for others to pick up, eavesdrop, whisper, or barge into a held call.

Note:

To enable privacy mode (block the call) on your phone, you must have the Zoom desktop client or Zoom mobile app version 5.7.6 or later. Desk phones cannot support this feature.

How to enable or disable privacy mode for shared line groups

1. Sign in to your account via the Zoom web portal.
2. Navigate to Phone System Management and click on Shared Lines.
3. To view shared line groups, click the Shared Line Groups tab.
4. You can select a shared line group by clicking its name.
5. If the box next to Privacy is checked, members can block the call while on the call.
   The following are prevented when the call is barred:
   • Members cannot answer held calls if they are on hold.
   • Other phone users are not allowed to eavesdrop, whisper, barge in, or pick up the call.

How to enable or disable privacy mode for shared line display (call delegation)

1. You can access the Zoom web portal by logging in.
2. You can access shared lines from the navigation menu.
3. Select the Shared Line Appearance tab.
4. The details of a call delegation setup can be viewed by clicking the Details button.
5. You can block a call while on a call by checking the box next to Privacy.
   If the delegator puts the call on hold, other phone users cannot answer the call. When the call is barred, other phone users cannot answer the call.
