Live streaming of Zoom meetings/webinars on FB Workplace
If you’re an admin of a Facebook Page or Group, you can live stream Zoom webinars and meetings. Workplace by Facebook live streams are available to attendees via Zoom, and viewers can view and comment on them.

Requirements for live streaming meetings or webinars on Workplace by Facebook
Streaming for meetings
- Account types include Pro, Business, Education, and Enterprise
- There is a license for the host.
- Here is Zoom’s desktop client:
- Version 4.1.11049.1024 or later required for Windows
- MacOS requires version 4.1.11049.1024 or later
- Workplace by Facebook supports live streaming
Streaming for webinars
- Account type: Pro, Business, Education, or Enterprise
- A webinar license is assigned to the host
- Desktop Client for Zoom:
- Version 4.1.8826.0925 or higher for Windows
- macOS requires version 4.1.8826.0925 or higher
- Workplace by Facebook supports live streaming
How to enable live streaming meetings on Workplace by Facebook
For your entire account
Workplace by Facebook makes it easy to live stream meetings for your entire organization:
- Zoom web portal administrators have the right to edit account settings when logged in.
- Select Account Settings in Account Management.
- Enable the Allow meetings to be streamed setting in the In Meeting (Advanced) section, click Save, and then confirm that the option is enabled.
- The setting can be made mandatory for all users in your account by clicking the lock icon. Click the lock icon to confirm, then click the Lock button.
For a specific group
Workplace by Facebook can be used to live stream meetings for all members of a specific group:
- Register as an administrator with group editing rights in the Zoom web portal.
- Select groups from the user management.
- To edit a group, click on its name.
- You can enable live streaming of meetings by clicking the Allow meetings live streaming setting on the Meeting tab, then enabling Workplace by Facebook and saving your changes.
Note: - It needs to be changed at the account level if the option is greyed out.
- Click the lock icon and then click Block to confirm that this setting is mandatory for all members of this group.
For your own meeting
Live streaming your meetings to Workplace by Facebook is as simple as this:
- To access the Zoom web portal, you must log in.
- You can do this by clicking the Settings button.
- If you’re working on the Meeting tab, in the In Meeting (Advanced) section, look for the Allow meetings to be streamed setting and make sure it’s on, then turn on the Workplace by Facebook option. Finally, click Save to save all changes.
Note: Your Zoom admin can help you if the option is greyed out.
How to enable live streaming webinars on Workplace by Facebook
For your entire account
Stream webinars on Workplace by Facebook to everyone in your organization:
- You must log in as an administrator with permission to make changes to your account settings on the Zoom web portal.
- Select Account Settings in Account Management.
- Locate the Allow webinar live streaming setting in the In Meeting (Enhanced) section, make sure it’s enabled, check the Facebook Workplace option, and click Save to save the changes.
- The lock icon can be clicked to make this setting mandatory for your account’s entire user base, but you must opt-in to making it mandatory by clicking Lock to confirm the setting.
For a specific group
With Workplace by Facebook, it is possible for any member of a specific group to live stream webinars on the platform:
- As an administrator, you have the right to edit groups within the Zoom web portal once you are logged in.
- In the User Management section, click Groups and then click Manage Users.
- Select the group whose name you want to edit from the list of groups.
- It is recommended that you locate the “Allow live streaming of webinars” setting in the “In meeting (enhanced)” section, make sure the option is selected, check the “Facebook Workplace” checkbox, and click “Save” to save your changes on the “Meeting” tab.
Note: - If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at the account level, so it needs to be changed at the account level to be enabled.
- It is possible to make this setting mandatory for all users in the group by clicking the lock icon and then clicking Lock to confirm the change. (Optional)
For your own webinar
Workplace by Facebook lets you stream live webinars:
- You can access the Zoom web portal by logging in.
- Click the Settings button.
- On the Meeting tab there is a setting called Allow live streaming of webinars that needs to be enabled. This setting is in the In Meeting (Advanced) section, where you need to check the Workplace by Facebook box. Finally, click Save to save the changes made.
Note: - If the options are greyed out, the group or account admin has locked the option and to change it you need to contact them.
How to start a live stream to Workplace by Facebook
To stream live from Workplace by Facebook to Workplace, follow these steps:
- Join a webinar or meeting by clicking the button below.
- You can edit the meeting/webinar settings by clicking the More button in the controls.
- Workplace by Facebook has a live feature that you can access by clicking here.
- The video will appear in the browser as a pop-up dialog asking where to post the live video.
- Once you’ve decided where you want to share, you can click the “Next” button.
- Click Next after selecting Use Stream Key under Getting Started.
- Click the Done button.
- Make adjustments to optional video options, including the title and description of the show.
- Instead of choosing how you want to broadcast, click Go Live.
- Your live meeting will appear on the Workplace by Facebook page.
- On the controls toolbar, click More again and select Stop streaming to stop streaming after you’ve ended the webinar or meeting.
