Upgrade or downgrade from Zoom Rooms
To update or downgrade the Zoom Rooms software, administrators and account owners can use the Zoom web portal to remotely update the Zoom Rooms software to the latest version or to the previous version. You can update the Zoom Room Controller software manually using Zoom Device Management, or you can do so through the Zoom web portal using Zoom Device Management. There is no way to downgrade the controller software after installation.
Remarks:
- The Zoom Rooms and their controllers must be running version 5.0.5 or higher in order to function. Due to improved encryption between rooms and controllers, this version is required for the room to function properly.

Requirements for Upgrading or Downgrading Zoom Rooms Software

- Windows: 5.0.5 or higher
- macOS: 5.0.5 or higher
- Zoom Rooms Controller
- Android: 5.0.5 or higher
- iOS: 5.0.5 or higher
- Someone who owns the account or has administrative rights to the account
How to update Zoom Rooms

If you want all users in your Zoom Rooms account to update, follow these steps:
- Make sure you are logged in as an administrator and have the right to edit account settings on the Zoom web portal.
- In the navigation pane, click Room Management, and then click Zoom Rooms in the next window.
- Select the Devices tab on the left side of the screen.
- Update Zoom Rooms by clicking the Update Zoom Rooms button.
- Confirm the upgrade by clicking the Upgrade button.
Note: It is recommended that Zoom Rooms wait up to 30 minutes before proceeding with the upgrade to ensure no ongoing meetings or meetings begin. Visit the Download Center to download the latest version of Zoom Rooms in case you need an upgrade ASAP.
How to downgrade Zoom Rooms

Note:
There is only one way to downgrade from one version to another.
Downgrading Zoom Rooms for all users in the account:
- Sign in as a Zoom admin with permission to edit account settings on the Zoom web portal.
- You can access Zoom Rooms by clicking Room Management in the navigation pane.
- Click the Devices tab on the left side of the screen.
- If you want to downgrade your Zoom Room, you need to find it and click on the ellipsis.
- From the Zoom Rooms menu, click Downgrade Zoom Rooms.
- If you want to downgrade, click the Downgrade button. You can see the version of the app that is being downgraded. It is possible to stop the downgrade if needed by clicking Cancel.
Note: There is a 30 minute waiting period before the Zoom Room downgrades the service to ensure no meetings are in progress or starting within the next 30 minutes.
How to update the Zoom Room Controller app

On these Zoom Room Controller devices, the Zoom software can be updated manually if the device itself is capable of doing so, or through the Zoom device management portal if the device is unable to do so.

How to update Zoom Room appliances
There are a number of Logitech products that need to be updated separately, including the Logitech Rally Bar, Logitech Rally Bar Mini, Poly X30, X50, and the G7500. Location-based updates and updates through account-based updates are not supported.
Note: There is an automatic update from Neat for the devices in the Neat Bar Zoom Room.
The following steps must be performed for all users in the account to update their Zoom Rooms appliances:
- To edit account settings, you must register as an administrator on the Zoom web portal.
- You can access Zoom Rooms by clicking Room Management in the navigation pane.
- Select the Devices tab on the left side of the screen.
- Choose filters from the drop down menu.
- To find Zoom Room Appliances in a Zoom Room, you must select Registered with ZDM in the last drop-down menu.
- To update a Zoom Room Appliance, you must find it on your computer.
- The following options can be selected by clicking on the ellipses:
- Update OS: The device needs to be updated with the latest OS version.
- Update Zoom Room: It is recommended that you update the Zoom Rooms app on your device.
- If you want to update all the devices shown, you can click the “Update OS” or “Update Zoom Rooms” button.
- Confirm the upgrade by clicking the Upgrade button.
Refresh the Zoom web portal after the upgrade is complete to see the latest version of Zoom after the upgrade is complete.
How to troubleshoot Zoom Room issues
Problems may arise during the process, which is why you need to consider the following options.
- It is recommended to restart the Zoom Room device after making the changes.
- Zoom Rooms should be uninstalled and then reinstalled for all new features to be available.
