Using Zoom on Google Nest Hub Max

Google Nest Hub Max devices now support Zoom for Home. All Zoom users have access to this feature and there is no license required. Just say “Ok Google, join a meeting.”

How do you set that

  1. If you have a mobile device, you can download the Google Home app by following these steps:
    • The app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store if you are using an Android device.
    • The iOS version of the app can be downloaded from the Apple Store if you are using an iOS device.
  2. In the Google Home app, you can link your accounts in the following ways:
    • You can sign in to the app with your preferred Google account.
    • Click on your avatar to select it. You need to tap on the assistant settings icon and then on voice and video calls followed by a tap on voice and video apps. Once you’ve selected Zoom, you’ll have the option to link to your account.
  3. Make sure your Nest Hub Max is turned on before using it.
  4. It’s easy to pair the Nest Hub Max with your Google Home account via the Google Home app by following the on-screen instructions on the Nest Hub Max.
  5. Make sure Personal results are enabled (required):
    • The Nest Hub Max device can be selected in the Google Home app by opening and selecting it.
    • To access Settings, tap the gear icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
    • Once on the Settings page, select Discovery and Sharing from the list of options.
    • On the Discovery & Sharing page at the top of the page, tap Discovery & Personalization.
    • The Allow Personal Results toggle is on the Detection & Personalization page.

How to join meetings

To join a meeting, use Nest Hub Max or voice commands.
Note:

The calendar that shows on the Nest Hub Max is the one associated with the Google account that was linked to your Nest Hub Max and not the one associated with the linked Zoom account.

To join a Zoom meeting from the UI:

  1. You can reach the communication screen by swiping from the right side of the home screen.
  2. Select one of the options to start a Zoom meeting by tapping the Start Zoom Meeting button.

Here are the voice commands you can use to join a Zoom meeting:

  1. Ask Google to join your next meeting by saying “Ok Google, let’s meet.”
  2. This allows you to join the Zoom meeting scheduled for the next day
  3. Alternatively, it is also possible to say “Ok Google, join a meeting”.
  4. You will then be asked which service you want to start. Make sure Zoom is selected.

To close the Zoom application, follow these steps:

  1. The join screen can be closed by swiping the screen from the right if you decide not to join the meeting after you’ve decided to join.
  2. Once you join a meeting, you must ask the meeting host to let you in if you enter a waiting room. Say “Hey Google, quit Zoom” to leave when you’re waiting for it to happen and it’s not.

Your Zoom Meeting information will be collected by the Google Assistant app if you have it. If you want to invite others, you can ask the app to send them this information.
