View phone contacts in the Zoom mobile app

You can use the Zoom mobile app to view your phone’s contacts so you can invite them to join Zoom, or use Zoom Phone to call them using Zoom Phone. There is also a feature known as matching phone contacts which is also part of this feature.

Note:

As an alternative to syncing your contacts with third-party services, you can use the method described in this article. The Zoom mobile app does not support syncing contacts. However, you can follow these steps to sync your contacts to the native Contacts app on your phone and then view your contacts through the Zoom mobile app once you have synced your contacts.

Requirements for showing phone contacts in the Zoom mobile app

• The Zoom mobile app is available for both Android and iOS devices
• Messages can be sent to this number as long as it can be received

Note: You may encounter issues attempting to use this feature if you are running Zoom Mobile in a virtual sandbox environment (e.g. Parallel Space or VMware Intelligent Hub).

(Optional) To sync contacts with a third-party service

There are a number of native apps that support syncing contacts to a third party service like Google, Office 365 or Exchange. If you need help syncing the Contacts app on your phone, please visit these websites:

  Note: Visit the phone manufacturer’s support website if you are using a phone with a customized version of Android (e.g. a Samsung device).
• Apple IOS

To access your phone contacts on Zoom’s mobile app, follow the steps in the next section after enabling syncing on your phone.

How to view phone contacts

Note: Please make sure you allow Zoom access to your contacts when using iOS. Go to settings and tap on privacy then tap on contacts and you can see your contacts. Zoom can be toggled on and off by tapping the toggle.

1. Sign in to your account using the Zoom mobile app.
2. To change the settings, tap the Settings button.
3. Click Contacts and then tap Phone Contacts Match on the left side.
4. Please enter a phone number where SMS can be received from you.
5. Tap the Next button to continue.
6. Please click OK when prompted.
   Your phone number will be confirmed by Zoom via SMS.
7. Tap Next after entering the verification code you received in the email.
   It is recommended that you enable Zoom access to your phone contacts if you are using an Android device. To do this, just tap Allow when prompted.
8. Click the Done button to complete the process.
   Contacts from your phone appear on the Phone Contacts tab under the Contacts tab in your phone’s contact list.

How to call phone contacts

1. Sign in to your account using the Zoom mobile app.
2. Select the Contacts tab from the menu.
   To allow Zoom access to your phone contacts on an Android device, you must click Allow when prompted.
3. From the My Contacts section of the screen, tap Phone Contacts.
4. You can tap a contact’s name to open the contact’s profile.
5. Tapping the call button allows you to call the contact using Zoom Phone.
   Note: You will be prompted to select a number to call if the contact has multiple numbers associated with it.
